Caatinga Region

Everyone knows about the great Amazon River and the vast rain forest embracing it´s 4,000 mile journey to the Atlantic. A full 1/6th of the world´s freshwater pours from it´s mouth at a rate of 4.5 trillion gallons per day; enough to supply every U.S. household for more than five months! Although commonly nicknamed the "lungs of the planet", the effects of this great forest seem to permeate every corner of the globe. Scientists are finding that the Amazon Rain Forest should be more accurately called, earth´s air conditioner. Truly a crucial element to help mitigate Global Warming. Clearly the Amazon rain Forest is vital to the very health of life on this planet.

The onset of Global Warming has thrust the Amazon region onto the headlines on continual basis. The total Amazon area is now under attack like never before in history. Development due to enormous economic pressure and the world requirement for resources are chinking away at the Amazon from every angle so now is the time for us to act and not just talk. The objective of the foundation is to take action and seriously help in the process of preservation and restoration of these threatened rain forest lands.
